Leeroy computed the data from the past’s posts, especially the late entries from Cameron and Carrie and seemed to really admire the directions so many of you took. She Talks To Angels by The Black Crowes is about a Goth girl who loved her heroin yet so many of you turned your interpretations toward reflection, remembrance, love and heartbreak. k picked a really good song to write for. Thank you k. Leeroy liked Angela’s piece over at Tread Softly called Addicted http://www.angelaamman.com/2012/07/addicted-100-word-song.html She showed someone who had given up. So when Angela aka @angelaamman on the twitter was asked to pick this week’s song I wondered if Call Me Maybe or something suspect was on its way. But instead she chose the polar opposite of her 100, #1 Crush by Garbage. I think it’s a really tough but meaningful love song about absolute feelings in spite of everything.
For my 100 we revisit Jake Hanna in his hospital room in my short story Soul To Body.

Violet was asleep in the chair at the foot of the bed. Jake tried to toss the crisp white sheets away to walk to the bathroom.
Violet woke and jumped to her feet, sliding on the linoleum in her tri-colored socks, to his side.
“I’m fine baby.”
Violet ignored him and held his right arm as he stood.
“Mom may have told you to move on but she told me I had to be your number one girl for a while. I’m not ready to stop being that.”
Jake pulled her into his chest and whispered.
“You are my number one.”

Sweet! I LOVE Garbage. And that song. *off to play it over and over and over*
Oh, nice to see us back with Jake. Hope this trend of Vi being number 1 sticks. FYI: small typo – “Violet’s woke and jumped to her feet” should just be “Violet woke…”
thank you
awwww. i hope you meant it, Jake.
me too…he’s making me nuts
What a sweet validation! I like this side of Jake.
This made me a little weepy. I like that.
i thought you part robot like me? good to know. thank you

Lemme tell you a secret… I’m daddy’s girl–even at 40. This scene just made me realize WHY I mistrust Mallory so much. Well done!
nice…hope my girls say the same at 40
The totality of a father’s love, in just five words. Perfect, Lance!

no way…you’re like the Iron lady and all! btw, cheerleading has gotten in the way of Bobina and I finishing your book. we’ll finish it this week. I’m enjoying it.
Oh my goodness, no worries. I know you love cheerleading and have to practice your high-kicks and cartwheels … oh , you mean your DAUGHTER’s cheerleading…gotcha
“Jake, Mallory cannot have you, I am going to sweep into that hospital room and cart you off myself!”
clears her throat, composes herself and smiles
I mean to say… Such tender, heartfelt thoughts shared between this father and his daughter. You know I love this story.
ha! love your reaction. thank you.
Did the wreck knock some sense into Jake? Loving how this story is playing out.
sometimes that’s what it takes to think the right part of your body

Several ideas for this one! I finally picked one.
Wow, 2 weeks ion a row
This one had me stumped. SO many things one can do with this song. I may have to revisit it another day to spin it differently
