Knowing what people read, being on the cusp of finishing my first fiction novel is cumbersome. After telling a friend what I was writing, he responded.
“No zombies, vampires or wizards? Good luck.”

Trifextra in here, so in response to http://www.trifectawritingchallenge.com/ ’s : The Rule of Three is a writing principle that asserts that, in writing, groups of three have the most impact. This week’s challenge is to write 33 words using the Rule of Three somewhere among them. It is up to you to interpret the rule, just make sure to use exactly 33 words.
Today’s song is from Seven Mary 3 – see what I did there Trifecta? – the lyrics don;t match but the sentiment does. Here’s one of the wonderful one-hit wonders of the 1990s with Cumbersome.
Great entry Babe!
thanks baby
Feh. It ain’t all supernatural, and who wants that when there’s truly frightening things to read about, like the record industry?
Hey Cam! Yeah, I think there’s a lot that’s frightening about my story too. Maybe it will make someone interested.
Lance, after all the “Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter” and “Pride, Prejudice, and Zombies” genre hoopla, this is almost a self-fulfilling prophecy. Loved it, man! Amy

thank you…figured you would…great poetry from you amy
You just slid that one in there. Nice!
back to back slides…thanks
How about fake Zombies?
What drives me crazy is the bandwagon writing. Been there, done that, over it.
ha! agreed…thanks deb
Congrats, and well played with both story and song.
… this editing has editing has become Cummmbersoome
Great song choice.. One hit wonder, yeah, but so under rated. American standard and rock crown are two amazing albums, front to back
You’ve managed some fine tales without them!
I loved this entry.
Meh. Screw ‘em. Helene is better than any ol’ vampire anyway–except maybe Viola.
(LOL)
Well, I will be sure to read it then!
Ah, such helpful things people say.
I hope he’s not right, but that does seem to be the literary trifecta right now.
Hey Lance! You are right about ‘the big three,’ but other stuff sells…that whole S&M Shades of Grey thing, for instance
yeah, my wife tried to read that…she made it through one chapter…then my dog “reviewed it”. He ate the cover
Oh I used to love this song… Just have a zombie sitting in the back of the bar at some point. Maybe that will do it.
good point…maybe zombies for band roadies?
But throw in some eroticism here and there and that should make up for it.
Love this song
ha…yeah, you’re right. thanks
Exactly! Hollywood needs something fresh. Good take on the prompt.
thank you…i agree
Wait, you mean you’re not writing about a zombie rock band? I must have totally misread something…
Seriously, though, I am rooting for you and your book, so there.
oh great…now someone will do zombie rock band and get a 3 picture deal. thanks
So over that stuff but, I agree, a litlle something, something in the romance/sex department never hurts a story, IMO, that is.
Ha! Great entry. You’ll do fine, Lance.
I don’t remember this song. Weird.
thanks superfriend
