100 Word Song – I Will Wait

With my book editing and rewrites coming to a close and the wrap up of my fun summer blog series, Dead Money, I will be paying a lot more attention to finishing my Soul To Body story with 100 word posts. I love it when old friends decide to become new 100 word singers like Kelly aka @nkdgirlinadress. Kelly is a hard-working girl in the blog world. She runs Studio30plus http://studio30plus.com/ , does a great job with her often soul baring blog http://nakedgirlinadress.com/ as well as rocking The Twitter and The Book of Faces. She wrote last week and I loved it her rookie entry. Leeroy asked her to pick this week’s song and she chose Mumford and Sons’ new song I Will Wait.

Thank you goes to Tara aka @Tara_R for filling in last week while I attended a funeral. Her John legend song got rave reviews. http://thinspiralnotebook.wordpress.com/

We head back to a fed up Jake, an insolent Violet, and a nosy Gus for my 100. Here’s a new Soul to Body episode.

Jake listened to the bouncing clicks of the car keys against the steering column and Violet’s unbuckling. The car sat in a space between two large trucks, creating a tunneled atmosphere. Violet reached for her door. Jake barked.

“Not yet, Vi!”

She glared at her father. Jake shrugged his shoulders and turned to a eye-rolling Violet. His breathing navigated ripples of pain.

“Vi, I’ll never stop missing my wife, your mother. I will wait for her, in my heart, forever. I promised her that. But you will not make me feel guilty, anymore, for wanting to be a man.”

My Blog Can Beat Up Your Blog

AS always, you have 7 days to come up with 100 words inspired by Mumford and Sons’ I Will Wait. Make sure to use the Mr. Linky Below and use The twitter and the Book of Face to promote your entry and the entries of others.

  1. Uhm, can I have Jake’s number, I think I am in love!

Seriously, I like his mounting strength, and the ability to stand his ground with Violet. She really needs that from him, even if she is still mourning the death of her mother, and angry about a possible replacement for her dad. These characters are strong, and I like each one… but only 100 words at a time… danged Lance! ;-)

  3. I’m not sure about the shrugging of shoulders just before he turns to the eye-rolling violet. The body language doesn’t create the right visual. I’m not sure if you even really need it.

Perhaps a deep sigh or resignation or frustration?

I’m glad he’s telling Vi what to expect BUT I still think Jake is moving WAY too fast. His wife has been dead what? 3-4 months? Make friends, be involved in stuff, live life…but jumping into a sexual relationship will probably not end well. He’ll be hurt, Mallory will be hurt (but then, she kinda deserves it) and Violet will be hurt.

Stop thinking with your penis Jake ;)
