One of the perks of having a spouse who write is filling in when the novel barks its orders and time becomes a vicious animal. Thanks to the Bobina for the Dan Fogelberg and to those of you who wrote.
This time, I’m picking, I’ve been wanting to use The Afghan Whigs for months. They were one of my favorite bands in college. If the world was perfect then the Whigs’ 1993 album, Gentlemen, would have made them U2 like stars and one of you would’ve requested them for 100 word song over the past 11 months.
We’re coming up on the one year anniversary of anniversary of Leeroy’s magical meme, 100 word song. January 24th is the date to mark on your calendar. I would like for all of you to request a special song for the celebration. We can vote on what to use.
For now, let’s concentrate on the pride of Cincinnati and the excellent vocal talents of Greg Dulli. This tune is perfect for where we are in the Soul To Body story. It’s about someone making a mistake in a relationship and being self-aware and guilty. The song’s called Debonair.
Here’s my 100.

Jake felt small. Mallory stood in the chair, adjusted her blouse and hair, and looked down on him. She seemed Amazonian.
“I don’t want to go, Jake. But I don’t want you to keep pushing me away. I know this is hard to hear but she’s gone.”
He swallowed his anger then addressed her in a sophisticated tone.
“Let’s keep this between us. “
Mallory stepped down from the chair, smiling as she walked toward him. She licked her lips and gave a coquettish grin that was interrupted by a voice from the front door.
“Hey, Jake, it’s Augusta, I’m early!”

Somebody’s about to get a good ass kicking! I hope she kicks it right out the door. Then maybe she will give Jake a good talking to.
Augusta can do, what Jake may not. There is something of a tantrum throwing like a hushed breath in a shadowed room, that breathes through Mallory’s every move.
Good tune. I don’t usually listen to them, maybe I should start?
yes you should, they’re a terrific band.
I really like this song a lot. Those words spoke to me and I really like their sound. Thanks for hosting!
I hope Augusta is going to go all spider-monkey on Mallory.
Well, it’s been awhile but I finally got back on track with 100 words. It helps that I really like this song.
Happy, Inspiring and Prosperous 2013 to you and your family!:-)
Okay, now I’m crazy intrigued. Though maybe I’d understand more if I was familiar with that song!
woot!! saved by Gus!!
I second Tah-rah’s hopes
