“One minute was enough”, Tyler said, “A person had to work hard for it, but a minute of perfection was worth the effort. A moment was the most you could expect from perfection.”

*****blogger’s Note*****
This is a book that truly changed my life. For this week’s 33 word challenge from Trifecta Writing, I give you 33 words from the club we’re not supposed to talk about. http://www.trifectawritingchallenge.com/
Here’s The Pixies, from the movie’s soundtrack and the author (Chuck Palahniuk)’s CD collection with Where Is My Mind? -
I’m not surprised Palahniuk’s “Fight Club” was your favorite book.
one of…top five favorites…i read it at the perfect time in my life…and don’t talk about it
First rule…
My son was sooo into this movie as a teenager. I’ve seen it at least a half dozen times. Great quote.
thank you. he has a great mind and taste.
I remember reading your fiction on Write on Edge…? I am glad to find you again. Your writing while not always my cup of tea, is always thought provoking.
hello again! I’ve heard that before. what’s not your cup of tea? the dark stuff? the music obsession? the weirdness? I enjoy your work…headed over now
One minute of perfection is definitely worth it.
will need to put this on my list of books to read. A rather lengthy list. Thanks
then, this post was a success. Hope you create your own Project Mayhem, someday. thank you.
I loved the movie but never read the book. I now wonder how faithful the movie stays to the book. Perhaps I should add it to my ‘need to read’ book list and find out.
It’s fathful in terms of ideas, tone, and darkness. Obviously, they leave many sections out to make a 2 hour movie. I saw the movie first, then read the book five years later, while going thru a tough time. It’s amazing.
I suspect that we have a lot of the same tunes on our iPods or computers. Love the Pixies! Love this song! Love the movie! Haven’t read the book, though. Nevertheless, your selection made my evening so far! Thanks, Lance.
you’ll love the book…so, successful post
me too. thank you barbara
Chuck is one of my favorite authors. I LOVE his stuff, and am so happy you chose his words.
same here, thanks for commenting
A moment is the most you could expect from perfection.
That is good.
I can’t believe I haven’t read this book. Adding it to my list immediately.
great…come back with a review and bruised knuckles
I should have known… (: The book and movie are both amazing.
I just read your “About Lance” as I was scrolling down to leave a comment about your 33 words and I loved it. I find that whenever I leave a comment, it rarely conveys well the feelings that some things evoke but I hope the following does: I thought that short paragraph about you made me want to know you and didn’t feel like so many that I read and for the longest time, what some of the stuff I said about myself felt like. I was drawn to it and thought it was honest and I just really liked it. I know, I’m a nerd who fumbles with words but I just wanted to say it
.
awesome…usually that section runs people off, ha! nice to meet you. Thanks for reading. I hope you come back soon.
Aw… Should have known you would go with…um…ightfay ubclay! Good quote
So very true. But sometimes a moment is all you need. Great quote–it suits you!
I never read this. I didn’t even see the movie. Guess I’d better read it. This seems like a tough talking blog… but then, I’ve seen the avatar.
Ohhhh Tyler. How you speak to me. Great choice!
i hoped you’d approve
I really do need to read this book. I am the only adult in my family who has not read it. All are extreme Chuck Palahniuk fans and all have read every one of his books.
i think you’ll like it. thank you
If 33 words were not a requirement, “a moment was the most you could expect from perfection” would have been enough for me to make this post number one.
even though they are Chuck’s words…thank you
See, I knew this one deserved applause and a standing ovation. Congratulations — And as I also loved the movie, you’ve won Chuck another reader and that’s me.
then this post worked too. The book is amazing. It speaks on many different subjects and levels. thank you
Great quote:-)
thank you
