Tonight, I Have To Leave It

Last time with Soul To Body:

He hung up with Augusta and pressed the cold metal cell phone against his forehead. Longing for his dead wife, Augusta’s sister, overwhelmed him.

He opened the refridgerator and grabbed a beer.

*****blogger’s note****

This is another look into Violet’s dad, and the story now titled Soul To Body. You can read the rest, so far, here:

It’s in response to Trifetca Writing Challenge :  This weekend’s challenge is to give us a story or snippet of a story which includes, in exactly 33 words, a justified exclamation point. Make us believe that your exclamation point simply needs to be in your story. The writer with the most believable exclamation wins.

Today’s song is a request, sort of, from Trifecta guru, Lisa. We both like Sweden band Shout Out Louds. Here’s their angsty anthem, Tonight, I Have To Leave It. It fits the mood and the challenge.

  1. I feel for him. His frustration of not being “heard” on the other end comes through in this piece. I’m off to read the other parts you posted. Great work, Lance!

  2. Evelyn

Agony, unreality. The only thing that doesn’t change is the ‘Bud”. He plops in the laziboy, wearing t shirt and boxers, to watch a show he doesn’t see. No one there. Good imagery for a full story. Evelyn
